NEIGHBOR VOLUNTEERS - OUR STRENGTH AND OUR CONSTANT NEED
Our dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer team of over 100 members is the driving force behind the success of Neighbor. Our daily volunteers staff the Food Pantry and Clothing Room. They graciously greet donors and clients, help clients with their selections, sort items and stock shelves. They are joined in many instances on Saturdays with groups of volunteers who come as a team from schools, churches and synagogues.
Countless volunteers organize and conduct food and clothing drives, pick-up donations from retail stores and offer their assistance wherever there is the greatest need.
We have greatly expanded our volunteer recruitment efforts and target individuals in all age groups. This summer we had a big increase in the number of students who took part in our Junior Volunteer Program. As the young volunteers help in the Food Pantry and Clothing Area, they gain the unique experience of interacting with clients, staff and adult volunteers.
